A lone wandering swordsman, wielding the same bamboo weapon he started his training with, all those years ago.

This is a small series of concepts done over a short period of time, with inspiration drawn from both fantasy, wuxia and traditional Chinese martial arts sources. I wanted to capture a male protagonist with a strong sense of justice. The characters' outfit variants drew inspiration from hanfu, and the colors were chosen with the intent to allude to themes/characteristics within their design and personality.

When creating the landscapes, I wanted to feature the Ginkgo tree alongside rolling mountains; the visual contrast between the gold and green is very striking, while remaining believable.
